What started as an attempt to make a basic Margarita Mocktail has slowly turned into an obsession with creating more mocktail recipes this Summer! They are just perfect for those times you want a fun pretty drink without the alcohol.

    Ingredients:

labeled ingredients of watermelon, zero proof tequila, salt, seltzer, limes, and agave.

How to make a watermelon mocktail

    Make the fresh watermelon juice

Cut your watermelon into cubes and remove and discard the green rind. Add the watermelon cubes to a blender. Then blend until smooth and strain into a bowl.

While straining the watermelon juice isn't 100% necessary, it leads to a much smoother consistency that just tastes better. Plus, it removes any unwanted watermelon seeds!

Add to cocktail shaker & strain

Next, fill a cocktail shaker with about 1 cup of ice. Then, add in the fresh watermelon juice, agave, lime juice, and tequila alternative. Add the cocktail shaker lid and shake until frosted.

Then, strain it into a glass.

Top with seltzer and lime wedge

To top off this watermelon margarita mocktail, add a splash of lime seltzer and a fresh lime wedge as a garnish. Then, serve & enjoy!

    FAQ & Tips:

Do I need to use a tequila alternative in this mocktail?

Definitely not! You can omit it completely if you don't have any on hand, but it will taste less like a margarita. Also, you can substitute it with real tequila if you want to change this from a mocktail to a cocktail.

Can I make these watermelon margaritas in a large pitcher?

The watermelon juice, lime juice, agave, and tequila alternative can all be prepped in a large pitcher and even stored for up to 24 hours if you prefer to make it in advance. I recommend adding ice directly to each glass vs. to the pitcher so it doesn't get watered down.

If making in a pitcher, do not to add the seltzer to the pitcher as it will go flat over time. It's best to top each mocktail with a splash of seltzer and a lime wedge once served!
