I Love Food. No seriously, ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I am that girl constantly planning her next adventure around a restaurant, or more likely, Acai bowl I want to try. Yes, I am that obnoxious person who gets their om on in the kitchen and loves the fun of a challenging meal and more importantly- cooking that food for others.
I’ve never been one to follow recipes and prefer to get my inspiration from restaurants or from what’s in season at the farmers market. Until this blog, I can’t say I had ever developed a “recipe”. In fact, that to me has been the scariest part of this journey thus far. My secret talent in life has turned out to be finding random things in my fridge and turning them into a meal- but writing that down for other people- how does that work?!
This passion for food and cooking has more recently developed into something more; I don’t just want to just eat food that tastes good. I want to know where my food comes from and what is in it, fuel my body with real food, support local businesses, and find ways to eat mindfully. Mostly I eat simple plant-based foods, but I also plan to create recipes outside my comfort zone that are fun, indulgent, show stopper meals.
I can’t wait to share my love of mostly vegan, sometimes healthy, occasionally indulgent food cooked by me or for me. Along the way, I also plan to share the knowledge I gain from reading and researching our food system and the ways I am working to become a more mindful eater and fulfill my tall order on life.
