    Hi there! I'm Megan and I Love  Plant-Based Food!

    Seriously, ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I am that girl constantly planning her next adventure around a vegetarian restaurant or vegan bakery I want to try.  Yes, I am that person that truly enjoys being in the kitchen all day and, most importantly, loves cooking for others.

    Why ShortGirlTallOrder?

    I started ShortGirlTallOrder in February 2018 when I discovered I had a severe egg intolerance and started baking vegan. As an avid baker with a serious sweet tooth, I knew I had to create vegan versions of my favorite dessert recipes that just didn't exist online yet.

    Since then, this blog has involved into a community I cherish where I hope to inspire others to cook more plant-based food at home. In fact, in February 2020 I took the leap and quit my full-time recruiting career to pursue SGTO full time.

    If you're wondering where the name ShortGirlTallOrder came from well...first off I am 5'2" (plus ½ inch if we're getting real technical here).

    The "TallOrder" part of my name has two meanings. One, I am never one to turn down a tall, big, order of food! Second, I consider this to be a deeper meaning of the way I approach my recipes and the food I eat. I not only want to cook delicious food, but I want to know where my food comes from and what is in it, fuel my body with real food, support local businesses, and find ways to eat mindfully and sustainably. I always try my best to develop my recipes in a way that will fulfill the values behind my blog!

    What You Will Find at ShortGirlTallOrder

    Delicious plant-based recipes that are mostly vegan, sometimes healthy, occasionally indulgent, and NEVER boring.

    I believe that eating whole foods is the best way to feed ourselves and I tend to avoid overly processed food (yes, even the vegan stuff!). While some recipes are gluten-free and refined sugar-free, I am not one to shy away from gluten and sugar. I am a firm believer that everything in moderation is the best way to have a healthy relationship with food.

    All of my recipes are vegetarian and egg-free, though some may contain dairy and honey. Even the recipes that do contain dairy/honey are easily modifiable and all recipes contain vegan-friendly substitutes.
