This Sparkling Cantaloupe Agua Fresca is made with 5 ingredients, including fresh cantaloupe, for a truly refreshing drink!

This melon agua fresca is the final recipe in my Summer Sips series, where we've made so many fun drinks, from a Raspberry Orange Iced Tea, Strawberry Watermelon Smoothies, and a deliciously refreshing Cherry Limeade!
Ingredients:

Ingredient & substitution notes:
- Cantaloupe: Must be ripe for a sweeter drink!
- I used about ¾ of a medium cantaloupe, but how much you use will depend on the size of your melon.
- Sugar: I used organic cane sugar.
- Substitute 1:1 for honey or agave if desired!
- Coconut water: I decided to use coconut water in this recipe so that it's full of electrolytes and hydrating!
- Substitute 1:1 with normal water if desired.
- Lime juice: Must be freshly squeezed!
- Balances out the sweetness in this agua fresca.
- Sparkling water: Totally optional! I like adding a little to the top of this drink and making it fizzy, but it's just as good without!
- If not using, substitute with a little extra coconut water.
How to make a cantaloupe agua fresca
First, cut up the cantaloupe. Remove the inner seeds and outer rind, and cut the cantaloupe into large chunks that will fit in a large blender.
Blend cantaloupe, coconut water, sugar, & lime juice until the cantaloupe is completely liquefied and you have a smooth orange juice. Then, use a fine mesh strainer to strain out the pulp, but add ¼ cup of the pulp back to the juice for a thicker consistency.

Pour the melon agua fresca into glasses filled with ice until about ¾ full. Then top with 1-2 ounces of sparkling water. Stir together, garnish with a fresh wedge of lime, and enjoy!
How do I store agua fresca?
Since it is a fresh juice with no pasteurization/preservatives, store agua fresca in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge immediately after making. It will keep for about 2-3 days.
Because it doesn't contain preservatives, the cantaloupe juice will separate a bit in the fridge, so stir before serving and add ice and sparkling water only when you are ready to serve!

You are going to love this refreshing Sparkling Cantaloupe Agua Fresca! It's the perfect way to cool off on a hot Summer day and a great way to use ripe melons. Enjoy!
