Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American, Mexican
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4 glasses

Ingredients

  • 6 cups diced cantaloupe seeds & outer rind removed, about ¾ of a medium cantaloupe
  • 3 cups coconut water or water
  • cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice 1-2 limes, juiced
  • 8 ounces sparkling water optional to top (if not using, replace with 1 cup coconut water)
  • 4 cups ice to serve

Instructions

  • First, prep the cantaloupe. Remove the inner seeds and outer skin of the cantaloupe and dice the orange flesh into cubes.
  • Add the diced cantaloupe, coconut water, sugar, and lime juice to a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer and strain the cantaloupe juice into a large pitcher. I like to add ¼ cup of the pulp back to the juice for a thicker consistency, but add as much or as little as you desire
  • Add ice to a glass and fill it ¾ full with the cantaloupe juice. Then, top with about 2 ounces of sparkling water. Stir together and enjoy!

Notes

  • Please see blog post for recipe tips & substitution ideas.
  • Since it is a fresh juice with no pasteurization/preservatives, agua fresca should be stored in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge immediately after making. It will keep for about 2-3 days.
