First, peel and core 4 bosc pears.

Add the remaining ingredients to a large pot and bring to a simmer.

Cook the pears for 25-30 minutes until soft, making sure to rotate every 5-10 minutes.

The pears will be done when they are starting to look translucent & are easy to pierce.

Remove the pears, continue reducing the syrup, & serve the pears with the cooked syrup.
